Bangladesh

Bangladesh

I have visited most of the major scenic tourist destinations in Bangladesh. I would say the country’s natural beauty is truly underrated. When people think of Bangladesh, they often picture crowded and chaotic Dhaka, overlooking the breathtaking landscapes beyond the capital. Outside Dhaka, Bangladesh is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The Sundarbans, Debotakhum, and Sitakunda are some of the must-visit places that I have yet to see!

Sunamganj

Destinations: Tanguar Haor, Jadukata River, Shimul Garden, Watch Tower, Niladri Lake, Barikka Tila.

In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh, a masterpiece of nature that combines hills, lakes, rivers, and greenery. Watching the rain pour over the pristine, silver waters of the Jadukata River and the vast Tanguar Haor was an incredible experience. Niladri Lake and the Watch Tower were definitely the highlights of my trip. Seeing the greenery coating the wide valleys and hills provided a perfect, calming escape from my work. Although I missed the blooming season at Shimul Garden, it was beautiful nonetheless.

Rangamati

Destinations: Kaptai Lake, Tribal Village and Market, Shuvolong Waterfalls, CirclePlus Waterfalls, Hanging Bridge, Aranyak, and Lakeshore Resorts.

This is my favorite place to visit in Bangladesh. The main attraction is Kaptai Lake, which is surrounded by hills and lush greenery. Usually, people hire a boat for the day that stops at scenic spots, temples, tribal villages, markets, and restaurants. The lake changes color with every season; I have seen it in silver, muddy, blue, and turquoise hues. I once watched a stormy, cloudy sky contrasting against the deep blue-green lake while the golden setting sun peeked from behind gray clouds. It was such an amazing sight to witness!

Cox’s Bazar

Destinations: Marine Drive, Inani, Laboni, and Kolatoli Beaches.

This is a mandatory visit for anyone wanting to explore Bangladesh. The sunsets are golden, the beaches are silver, and the hills are green! Personally, I don’t love the place as much as others, as I prefer the blue water of Saint Martin over the silver water here. So far, I have been to Inani, Laboni, and Kolatoli Beaches. I preferred Kolatoli as it was less crowded and more beautiful.

Sajek Valley

Destinations: Konglak Hill, Ruilui Village, Helipad Viewpoints, Lushai Heritage Village.

The main attraction of Sajek is the breathtaking view of “cotton clouds” coating the mountains. Two to three days are enough to enjoy the area. The climb up Konglak Hill was a bit risky, but the view from the top is worth it. Lushai Village is a must-visit spot; it is a stunning exhibition of the beautiful culture of the Lushai tribe. The wooden huts mounted on the hills, the traditional clothing, and their history and traditions were presented beautifully. I watched the sun go down and the moon shine brightly at night from the helipad. The place was crowded but enjoyable regardless.

Sylhet & Sreemangal

Destinations: Jaflong, Bichanakandi, Lalakhal, Madhabkunda Waterfall, Sreemangal Tea Gardens.

These are among the top scenic places in Bangladesh. I have been to Jaflong, Bichanakandi, Lalakhal, and the tea gardens. The Sreemangal tea gardens are a must-visit, particularly around winter.

Saint Martin

One of the top three scenic places in Bangladesh. With turquoise water, corals resting along the shore, and fresh seafood, it is the perfect place for an island vibe. I was privileged to enjoy a full moon on the beach; the view was truly a sight to behold!

Bandarban

Destinations: Nilgiri Mountains, Nilachal, Golden Buddhist Temple, Khasia Tribal Villages.
